PLAINVILLE, CT—Element 119 LLC received the President’s E Award for Exports in a ceremony at the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C., on May 14, 2024. The Connecticut-based company was one of 30 U.S. companies to be presented with the award at the 63rd annual “E” Awards ceremony, which honors significant contributions to the expansion of U.S. exports.
The “E” Awards Committee recognized Element 119’s near tripling of export sales over a four-year period, as well as its ongoing market research and development of new export markets. “Element 119’s achievements have undoubtedly contributed to national export expansion efforts that support the U.S. economy and create American jobs,” said U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.
In 1961, President Kennedy signed an executive order reviving the World War II “E” symbol of excellence to honor and recognize America’s exporters. American companies are nominated for “E” Awards through the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service office network within the Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration.
The President’s “E” Award is the latest export-related honor Element 119 has recently received. The company was also named 2023 New England Small Business Exporter of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration and was recognized by the Connecticut District Export Council for new market expansion.
“These achievements are the result of the commitment to quality and the hard work of our entire team,” according to founder and CEO Andrew Zeppa, “as well as the continued trust of our dedicated customers, suppliers, and distributors.”
Element 119 has been producing industry-leading ceramic composite nanocoatings for the automotive, aerospace, and marine industries since its founding in 2010.
